Game Seven is our crisp, light red wine of the Summer. 85% carbonic Pinot Noir from Hawkeye Ranch and 15% Pinot Blanc. All Mendocino fruit, blended together to create a light red wine perfect for that time of day when the sun is just starting to go down and the sky is getting fuzzy with light blue and orange hues.
Pink peppercorn and vanilla bean on the nose, this bottle smells like lightly trodden Spring grass and wild raspberries. Tastes like bruised red fruit, with a tart underlying note of cranberries and currants. It’s a meadow wine, light and without much structure so it disappears pretty quickly. But, if you manage to keep it open long enough, the earthy-rose qualities of the Pinot Noir begin to come out even more.
