New Kid

New Kid is a single estate pear-grape wine, our first! This is all Hawkeye Ranch fruit from 2021. New Kid embodies our belief in supporting our farmers all the way through, using all the fruit the have to offer, not just grapes.

We foot tread the organic, dry-farmed Carignan and pour directly pressed pear juice over the fruit to mingle for a week. We pressed it all off together and keep it in barrel for over a year.

This wine has had some distinct evolutions. The volatile acidity was wild at first, intense and tingling, but it’s chilled out over the last few months. Now, you taste more of the grapes with a fresh wave of pear juice, hydrating the wine from the back with a light pink-peppercorn note and some mellow woodsy herbs.

Full-on fruit (but don’t worry, it’s dry) and light tannins making it perfect to drink on a crisp California Fall night (or wherever you may enjoy Fall).
